graal is a firm founded by Carlo Grispello and Nadine Lebeau dedicated to architecture and urban strategies. The firm’s projects are developed through an analytical and sensitive approach to give a real place to the role of public space, the construction process and the economics of construction throughout the design phases.
graal aspires to render the specific features of a site and a project commission through a sober, independent and contemporary language. Through an attitude coherent with the context and an investigation on the relational space, the projects carry a positive social and environmental impact.
graal is committed to dealing with every scale, from interior design to the regional project. The office’s practice encompasses France and abroad in close collaboration with multidisciplinary consultants in order to guarantee intelligent and feasible projects.
graal has been distinguished on several occasions. In 2016, the office was prizewinner of the ADC Awards and received the Europe 40 under 40 award attributed by the Chicago Athenaeum and the European Urban Centre for Architecture, Art Design and Urban Studies.
Simple, intelligent and economical. We focus on privileging above all the functional quality appropriation modes and the ways of inhabiting spaces of collective life.
That begin by looking at the precise description of a territory and then the urban structure, and not the opposite.
That takes into account the existing in the evolution of a context.
Urban or architectural, to envisage the city of tomorrow.
To create scenarios of relevant evolutions that are open and hybrid.
Elegant, sober and attentive to the quality of details.
Because they make it possible to look directly at the substance of a question, the scenario approach permits us to explore a constraint without any preconceived ideas and to transform it into a project opportunity.
Because designing a building is above all knowing how to control all types of expenses to increase flexibility and efficiency.
Because representing is transmitting the soundness of an often stigmatized architectural or urban proposal.
Used by our agency, they question a situation, a narrative.
Because developing a project idea requires rigor, the desire to venture off the beaten path and a good dose of experience.
